Trained as a classical guitarist, Sheldon became interested in spiritual and culturally diverse music while at Dartington in the early 90s, working with Indian, Spanish and Japanese musicians. He then travelled extensively, particularly in India studying yoga and meditation and teaching and performing for Womad, Glastonbury and elsewhere. He ran courses in team building and 'leadership through music' for Virgin, the Guildhall and others.

He has written and performed extensively for film, theatre and dance, most notably as Musical director for Big State Theatre and more recently touring with Wise Children’s production of Wuthering Heights. He recognises a deep interconnection and cross fertilization between his meditation and yoga practice and his music making. His successful youtube channel involves weekly hour long solo guitar improvisations similar to the one above.
